Daniel Botchway

Daniel Botchway is the Founder, President, and CEO of Abotchway Group, an engineering and project management company. He is a visionary leader with over 30 years of experience managing more than $35 billion in infrastructure and capital programs. He is recognized for delivering complex, high-impact projects across aviation, transportation, and public infrastructure sectors in both the public and private realms.

Currently, he provides strategic leadership and day-to-day oversight for the $19 billion JFK International Airport Redevelopment Program — the largest public-private partnership (P3) aviation project in U.S. history. This transformative initiative brings together global stakeholders including Lufthansa, Air France, Japan Airlines, The Carlyle Group, and American Airlines, to reimagine JFK as a world-class, interconnected 21st-century airport. The program encompasses 4.7 million square feet of new terminals, 65 new gates, upgraded roadways, and a ground transportation center, with a goal of increasing annual capacity to 75 million passengers by 2030.

Throughout his career, Daniel Botchway has led or contributed to some of the most iconic infrastructure projects in the States of New York and New Jersey, including:

  • World Trade Center Rebuilding Program (Towers 1, 3, 4, Oculus Transportation Hub, 9/11 Memorial & Museum)
  • Brooklyn Barclays Center
  • LIRR Amityville–Lindenhurst Track & Viaduct Replacement
  • Jamaica Station / JFK Airport AirTrain
  • Port Authority Bus Terminal
  • Lincon and Holland Tunnels
  • George Washington, Bayonne and Goethals Bridges and Outerbridge Crossing
  • 63rd Street–Queens Boulevard Subway Connector, a linchpin for the new Grand Central Madison Station, winner of the UNESCO’s 2024 Prix Versailles Special Prize as “the world’s most beautiful interior of a train station”.

In addition to capital project delivery, he has overseen operations and maintenance for critical infrastructure within the Long Island Railroad (LIRR) system — including 2,000+ bridges, tunnels, stations, HVAC systems, and vertical transportation assets — ensuring safe, round-the-clock reliability.

He is a licensed Professional Engineer, PMP-certified, and hold both a Bachelor of Engineering and an MBA. He is a Certified Member of the American Association of Airport Executives. He is also a Certified Auditor with the International Accreditation Service (IAS), conducting independent evaluations to ensure business operations meet the highest standards of legal, technical, and ethical compliance.

Outside of his professional practice, Daniel Botchway serves as a Professor and Faculty Member at Fairleigh Dickinson University, School of Public and Global Affairs, in Teaneck, New Jersey, where he shares his expertise with the next generation of leaders in the areas of Public Policy Administration and Transportation Systems.
